About Tilak Hettige

Tilak grew up in Sri Lanka and was attracted to the art of photography at an early age. He moved to the United States in 1984 and studied photography at the New England School of Photography.
Tilak first won international recognition when he was named 'Photographer of the Year' (1997)
by the International Photographic Society in Washington DC. He has shown exhibitions around the world. Pieces of his work are part of several well known private collections and he has been published in international media.
Tilak is a faculty of the Philippine Center for Creative Imaging (PCCI) . He conducts photography workshops when he is not busy traveling on assignment both at the PCCI and Camera Club of the Philippines Center. He is a contributing editor of I-Mag Photography Magazine.
Tilak's own books include Saffron Robes: A Photographic Essay on Buddhist monks; Tilaka: The Spiritual Third Eye; New Eyes: An Inner Vision to Photography.
